It's been such a thrill to work with the Zoey kit this month. If you know me you know I just LOVE the color yellow and when I saw all the yellow in the kit I was over the moon. I couldn’t wait to get started on my first layout that I am sharing with you today. Some of you may know I work full time as a Kindergarten teacher here in Brisbane. I have been wanting to create a layout about this important aspect of my life for a while and when I saw the chipboard letters in the kit I knew this was the time to create!
I began by punching various sized circles from three pattern papers from the Zoey kit. I then arranged them around my layout in a haphazard diagonal fashion across my page. For my title I used a combination of the Die cut words and also the Basic Lowercase stamp set which I stamped with a bright lime color for a fun effect. I really wanted my layout to be fun and whimsical.
I grabbed a few of the Chipboard numbers and layered them over the punched circles to ensure they did not seem like they were floating around my page. I then used some of the Zoey Black Puffy Alphabet letter stickers to add a subtitle around one of the circles.
I just had to use the cute Zoey doll die cut and after some thought, I added a punched circle (from my stash) and fussy cut some leaves from the floral pattern paper to create an apple for the teacher. It was the perfect way to stick with the theme of my layout but also use the die cut. A point to note - don't be afraid to change up elements from the kit to suit the theme of your layout. I adhered my doll with pop dots for some extra dimension and shadow.
I just love all the dimension that is created with the Chipboard numbers and acetate shapes as well as the more subtle texture created with the word stamps from the Zoey Stamp set.
This layout is my new favorite. I can’t wait to be back with another layout soon.
