The Note to Self List Project | Nancy Damiano

I am a lifelong list lover! It goes hand in hand with my passion for stationery and everything paper. I am so happy to see that list making notebooks have become so popular lately. A project after my paper loving heart!  When I first saw the beautiful scalloped Note to Self journal and planner collection by Felicity Jane, I knew just what wanted to create - a pretty book filled with lists of my favorite things, experiences and photos.

I'll be sharing my project every month right here on the blog using the past month's kit to create a 2-page list. Some months I'll make more depending on how much craft time I have. I'll do seasonal lists, favorites and childhood memories. All stored in one notebook all about the one person I scrapbook the least about - me!

I chose the white scallop Note to Self binder with dot-grid inserts for the base of my list book. I like the clean look of this binder and the dot grid is perfect for keeping my handwritten lists nice and straight. This is my title page using bits and pieces from past Felicity Jane kits. I kept the design very simple with a layer of patterned paper in the center, a 3x4 journal card and a die cut. The strip from one of the patterned papers makes for a perfectly color border. The title is bold and to the point - this is all about the lists!

I started with one of my favorite topics - places. I love to travel and I wanted to document some of the most beautiful places I've seen. I didn't want to limit myself to places I've traveled, so I worded the list heading "A list of my favorite places on earth. The ones that are filled with beauty and the best memories." Some of my favorite places are very close to home or remind me of when my boy was a baby. Don't limit your list to far-flung travels, list those places that you love and visit regularly.

I used embellishments left over from the September Heidi kit to decorate the list. I love the kit girl die cuts but sometimes I have a hard time using them in my scrapbook layouts. A project like this is perfect for all those elements that you love, but haven't found the perfect spot for!  A bold heading at the top followed with a typewritten list heading. This month, I decided to handwrite my lists, while other months I may use computer generated text.  I like to use a gray Papermate Flair pen for handwritten journaling because it's not quite as harsh as black ink. A few lines of colored stamped text also break up all the writing.

This spread is the blueprint for the project - lists on one side and a collage of photos on the other. I use my leftover photos from my monthly pocket scrapbooking layouts. The photos support the story and personalize the list book.

Meet me here at the beginning of each month for a list of new questions and inspiration. I'm excited to get started on this little book of handmade goodness. If you make a list book of your own, please share it on instagram with the hashtag #felicityjanenotetoself. I would love to see what you are creating!

I love how you used the little hexagon die cuts at bullet point markers!
