Hi guys! Dannielle here with you today with an Inspired By post. Before we get into to all the details of my layout, let me show you my finished page.
It's no secret that I LOVE all the papers that come in the kits, and the ones that came in the "Emeline" kit definitely held up to the Felicity Jane name. Of course I wanted to use as many of them as I could on my layout, so I decided to turn to Pinterest to get some inspiration to help me out with that.
Of course I found a ton of inspiration, but I spotted a fun grid pattern that actually came from the Creating Keepsakes website. It looks like it was originally created for digital scrapbooking, but it could be easily adapted to traditional scrapbooking. I knew that the grey squares could be replaced with all the gorgeous patterned paper from the kit, and the blue circle would be the perfect spot for my photo.
Even though I am mostly a white space scrapbooker, I still get super happy seeing all this goodness all in one place. How can you not smile?
I wanted to add some layers behind my photo, but I didn't want to add more "busy". My solution was to make them all white. I love how each layer is the same color, but because I used different materials, you still get a lot of texture.
When it came to embellishments I stuck with hearts. I did find a couple word phrase arrows on the cut apart sheet that worked perfectly with my photo so I found a place for those too.
I debated about adding the words "I get to love you" as a title, but in the end I decided against it. To be honest, I just couldn't find a place for it. Everywhere I tried to put it just made the layout feel over the top??
I am super happy that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and create a layout that had a lot more color on it than one of my typical layouts. I think changing things up every once in a while brings a balance to an album!
