Hello FJ Friends!
The gorgeous Katherine Kit is like a breath of fresh air don’t you think? I’m absolutely loving the beautiful colours and patterns and they’ve been so fun to create with! Today I have a traveler’s notebook spread to share with you…
I recently finished off a quilt that I started a very long time ago and I wanted to document the story behind it. The colours in this kit were just perfect for it!
I decided on a full-sized photo for the first page of the spread. At the bottom of the photo I used one of the label stickers, stamped it with the word “loving” from the stamp set, stitched across it with my sewing machine then added a puffy yellow heart sticker.
For the second page I used the minty blue dot paper for the background and stitched around the edge. My journaling was printed onto white cardstock then cut into a large tag shape approximately 3.5 x 7.5 inches. I used the Shay Tag Builder Metal Die Set to cut the tab for the top of the tag from the red solid colour paper. I stitched a border around the edge of the tag and added a twine bow.
I used the Jenny Puffy Alphabet Stickers to create the title, then added the puffy “happy day” sticker to the left of the journaling.
At the bottom of the tag is a second photo approximately 3 inches wide. I added a scalloped strip across the bottom of the tag then decorated with puffy stickers and a red miniwide paper clip.
You can check out my process in the video below...
I love how easily this spread came together and I’m so happy to have the story of this quilt documented!
Thank you so much for joining me on the blog today! I look forward to sharing another Katherine Kit project with you soon. Enjoy the rest of your day!
