Hi FJ friends!
Ulli here with you for another Mix-it Monday on the blog today. I have a new 12x12 page for you and I focused on the cardstock fringe strips from the Gabby and last years Jenny collections. I wanted to use them together and as little fringe rainbow/color transition on the layout and here you can see my finished scrapbooking layout.
I used two small little pictures - they were printed together on a photo and its the same picture in black and white and in color. I decided which cardstock fringes I wanted to use. I used 4 of the Gabby Cardstock Fringes and the two pink ones from the Jenny collection. I decided to use the wonderful Gabby Wonky Grid & Wood paper and cut a paper strip in 3 5/8 inches. I really love woodgrain paper and I love how the neutral look matches perfectly to every color. I glued it in the middle of my 12x12 page and cut all the cardstock fringes to nearly the same width like the big paper strip. They are only minimally wider. I decided where to add the pictures and began to glue the cardstock fringes from the lower part to the top of the page. I began with mint, teal and mustard, then added the blush, coral and pink cardstock fringe on the top. I used my fingers to rough up the fringes a little bit up.
I added the picture with 3 D dots on the layout and searched for embellishments in the colors of the cardstock fringes. For the top I decided to use only black and white embellishments. So they are matching to the black and white picture. I had some white branches from my sketch layout for September in my stash and to make the layout more playful I glued some of them under the picture and two of them on the bottom of the page. I cut the overlapping parts of them with scissors.
For the title I used the "This" arrow in blush from the Gabby Chipboard Bits, the teal label from the Gabby Die Cut Shapes and the Puffy sticker "Special" from the Tori collection. I love the teal Gabby Puffy Alphabet and so I wrote the word "day" with these wonderful letters on the label, too. Then I decorated every part of the page with the same color as the cardstock fringes in this range and on the top with black and white embellishments. I used Gabby Die Cut & Chipboard Shapes, Jenny Die Cut Shapes and Chipboard Stars and Bailey Die Cut Shapes. I love the mix of the cute chipboard hearts, the die cut flowers and all the other motifs.
I typed the journaling - the where and when from the pictures - and printed it out. I cut it smaller and glued it on a white label from the Jenny Die Cut Shapes with the mint border. I glued it with 3 Dots to add more dimension and I placed it on the lower part of the wooden strip. Then I glued the "6" for the age of my daughter on the label. Therefore I’ve used the wonderful mint Tori Puffy Alphabet.
I decorated the page on the upper part with the black and white die cuts. I glued the wonderful Gabby tag with dots under the picture and used the banner triangles from the Jenny Die Cut Shapes on the left side of the picture. I also used the black Jenny Chipboard Stars, some labels and the "YAY" die cut, also from the Jenny Die Cuts. I love the "One day at a time" circle from the Gabby Chipboard Bits and I glued it on the right side over the tag and the picture. Then I added some Jenny Word Stickers on the labels and beside the wooden strip.
At the end I splattered black ink across the left part on the top and the right side of the bottom of the page. I added some of the adorable tiny Chipboard hearts from the Gabby collection here and there - of course in the right color of the matching cardstock fringes - and some of the cute Tori Epoxy Dots.
I hope you like my page and maybe I could inspire you to mix and match the super cute Jenny and Gabby Cardstock fringes! They look so awesome together!
Until the next time!
xx, Ulli
