Hi everyone!
I hope that you're having a wonderful December so far! Today I want to share a traveler's notebook layout that I created using the beautiful Holly kit! One of my favourite things in the lead up to Christmas is putting up our Christmas tree! We always make a family day of it, and we play Christmas carols, and eat yummy food. It's a special time together that gets us into the spirit of Christmas! I always take the opportunity to snap some photos of the kids as well, and the photo that I'm documenting on my layout today, was one of my faves! I love how perfectly it captures my youngest daughter Eleanor's sweet and happy personality!
To start my layout off, I covered the left hand side of the spread with the stars patterned paper. I added some layers behind my photo using three of the journaling cards from the kit, and then adhered it to page. I love the way the photo really pops against the black and white background!
For my title, I used the Holly stamp set to stamp the word 'Christmas' onto white cardstock, and then I cut it out and tucked it under the top edge of the photo. I completed the title with a little word sticker that says 'smiles'.
Next I added some strips of patterned paper down the right hand side of the layout. I included each of the colours that I'd used on the left hand side of the spread, to ensure that it looked balanced. I love the pretty detail that the scallop branding strip adds to the page!
To finish the layout off I created a pretty cluster of embellishments down in the right hand corner. I started with the Christmas tree, which I fussy cut out of one of the journaling cards. I also punched the phrase 'tis the season' out of another journaling card, and I completed the cluster with one of the cute little wooden houses from the kit.
