Hello FJ friends,
Valeska here today with you sharing a mini album featuring the new beautiful Reese collection. I'm completely in love with this vintage vibe and color palette Reese gave us. It is so delicate and strong at the same time.
I decided to make a mini album to keep some family photos of a weekend we spent in Oviedo, Spain. It was really magical to get to know this city from the ancient Kingdom of Asturias.
I guess you want to know how I made the structure from the beginning. I used 5 pieces of cardboard that measured 4.5 x 6.5 inches for the back cover, 0.75 x 6.5 inches and 1 x 6.5 inches for the spines, 4 x 6.5 and 2.5 x 6.5 inches for the cover. I used the swiss dots, spotted mustard and the stripes from the paper pack to cover up the whole structure. I glued all the parts and before placing the light pink paper on the inside, I glued two magnets on the cover part, one on the big part (inside) and the other one on the smaller cover part (outside). That way my two parts of the cover could be together easily.
Decorating my cover is one of my favorite things, and I was inspired by one of the die cut shapes in the collection and made three tassels with scraps of paper on the left spine. And on the front I used a journaling card and purple paper scraps, flower die cuts, foil stars and the name OVIEDO in a tab with the colorful puffy alphabet.
I made a super easy binding for my inside pages. I cut two pieces of white cardboard 6.25 x 9.25 inches and made a fold of 0.25 in the middle of them. And I glued the folded part on the left inside spine. I also made a pocket on the left part of my cover with the floral paper to hold my journaling cards or more photos.
For the first page, I used a piece of paper from a 6 x 6 paper pack behind my photo to highlight it. Tabs, die cut shapes and chipboard hearts were used too. To document the day, I used the Abigail stamp to make lines and wrote with black pen.
For the second and third pages, I used the 6x6 paper pack to decorate, a journaling card that is a big tag (that I loved!) and made a pocket to hold a piece of paper with my thoughts, a pink mini clip, some fussy cut flowers and die cut shape.
For the fourth and fifth pages, I also used scraps of papers, die cut shapes and fussy cut flowers. A journaling card indicates the places in my photos, I used numbers from the puffy alphabet.
In these pages (6th and 7th) I used a lot of chipboard hearts and tried some stamping with the beautiful stamp set that comes with Reese. It is so inspiring and you can make a lot of beautiful flowers, any color you want.
Finishing my mini album, the last page was also decorated with pieces of paper, stamping flowers and die cut shapes.
I hope you enjoy this inspiration and don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions about this project.
Thank you for stopping by today! See you next time.
xx Valeska
