Hey everyone!
Tiffany here with a pocket page/layout spread in my Note to Self binder using the lovely Krystal kit. I took the prompt from the "Today's Top 3" journaling card and created this entire spread about a few things I've been up to lately.
I first started on the pocket page. I used one of the variety pack inserts with two 3x4 slots and one 4x6 slot. For the top, I have the "Today's Top 3" card where I used a few dot puffy stickers to list out three things that are happening right now in my world.
I've been working in my art journals recently and have been enjoying it a lot, so I documented that on the next 3x4 card. I used that beautiful floral card and layered some ripped pattern paper and a ripped piece of book page to add some texture and interest. Then I added a photo of my journal, which I matted on that grid pattern paper.
For the 4x6 card, I documented the 25 books I recently chose to read this year. I used a photo of my large stack of books, matting it on that same grid paper. For the card base, I used that pink gingham paper, which I added a ripped piece of book page to, along with a ripped piece of that tiny dot paper. I layered a white doily behind my photo before gluing everything down. I embellished with that plant pot die cut, a heart wood veneer, and a chipboard piece that reads "everyday life." Using the Krystal alphabet stickers and the essentials mini puffy stickers, I wrote out "25 books." And my pocket page is done.
I had a lot of fun with the layout! I used a photo of myself that I took in front of the gallery inspiration wall I recently made in my room. I decided to create this layout to live in my album out of the pocket, so I cut down a piece of white cardstock to size. I began by doing a bit of mixed media for the background. I pulled out two different shades of pink acrylic paint and created a painterly effect on the page. I added some splatters with white ink, then took the Krystal stamp set and stamped a few of the sentiments like "love" and "this made me smile today" mixed in the background in a matching colored ink. I like using my stamp sets this way because I can never figure out a better way to use them and the stamping adds a little extra something to the background.
Once my background was dry, I began adding my little photo cluster. I started by matting my photo with that same grid pattern paper. I then layered a bunch of ripped papers behind it like some of the pattern papers, old book paper, a white doily, and even some of the Felicity Jane black and white polka dot tissue paper! Once I had my cluster, I embellished it with a little cup die cut, the "this is me" chipboard piece, and a few of the flower wood veneers.
I finished off the layout by adding a few puffy dot stickers sprinkled around the page. I really love pairing these messy, fun layouts with a structured pocket page. It's the best of both worlds and I love how it looks in my album. I really hope you enjoyed this little spread!
