Traveler's Notebook Spread | Mandy MelvilleMay 18, 2018
Hi FJ friends!
Mandy here today to share a traveler’s notebook layout using the beautiful ‘Brie’ kit! I LOVE everything about this kit… the pretty colours, the florals, those layered butterflies! It’s all so gorgeous! This week the design team are focusing on flowers, and so I decided to use that beautiful floral patterned paper as a feature on my spread. I documented a photo of my eldest daughter Abi, with my little niece Eliza. Abi is the eldest of all her cousins, and I love seeing how much she adores her younger cousins!
I used the left hand side of the spread to add my title and journaling. I created my title by combining one of the die cuts from the Brie kit with the Essentials white puffy alphabet stickers. Have you seen that these alphabet stickers now come in not only white, but also aqua, pink, black and gold?! They are so versatile and definitely a must have! Underneath my title I added a few lines of typed journaling, and then I finished off the left hand page with a few of the layering butterflies from the kit. They are so sweet!
I covered the right hand side of the spread with the beautiful floral patterned paper, and I also added a narrow strip of the black and white striped paper down the inside edge of the page. I love the contrast of the bold black and white pattern against the softer florals!
I matted my photo with the aqua ‘square dot’ patterned paper and adhered it to the right hand page. Then to finish the layout off, I created a little cluster on the bottom right hand corner of the photo. Included in the cluster is another layered butterfly, as well as a die cut label from the kit that I added an ‘xo’ to using the Joy foam alphabet stickers.
I had so much fun creating this TN layout, and it came together so easily using the lovely Brie kit! If you’d like to watch me create this spread, you can check out my process video over on my YouTube channel…
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today. I’ll be back next week with some more inspiration using the Brie kit!
