Hi FJ friends,
Ulli here with you and I am so happy to be here with you today. I want to show you my first project with the gorgeous May collection Megan. This kit is really amazing and its totally mine. I am so in love with the color scheme, the rainbow theme and the butterflies and flowers.
When I went through the papers I had to pick the rainbow paper first and I decided to do a 12x12 layout with it.
This photo of my grand parents was long in my box with photos I want to use for my scrapbooking pages sometimes. They don’t live anymore and I miss them so much. I found this paper perfect to keep some treasure and important memories about them. My grandparents were expelled from Czechoslovakia after the World War II and they arrived here only with the belongings they could carry with them. They have built an existence out of nothing. They have always worked and saved and I also know many sad stories about them, because they were so poor and many people had prejudices against them. I’m proud of these two people and so I had to scrap a layout with a hidden journaling and some profound words.
First I cut out the stripes of the rainbow and glued them on a white 12x12 cardstock. I glued my photo on the right side of my page and a little bit under the lilac arch of the big rainbow. I only glued it on the bottom and on its sides and I used 3 D dots for it. So I had a place to put a hidden journaling behind it later. Before I glued it on the page I used a circle punch with 1 inch to punch a semi circle on the top of the picture.
I glued the title on the biggest arch. The Megan Puffy Alphabet is so amazing and I love the font so much! Then I wrote my journaling and glued it on the back of the journaling card with the plus signs. I also put the mint striped tag behind the photo. I noted some leather tape on these two tags and decorated the one with the journaling with a wooden bead too.
I cut out some clouds with my cutting machine and backed them with the Megan Herring bone paper, the back of the Rainbow paper. I decorated my layout with these clouds and with all the super cute Megan embellishments, like the Vellum shapes, the Ephemera Shapes and the cute little puffy stickers with the hearts.
I found the perfect place for the lilac paper bow and I added a little heart puffy sticker on it. I also used two other previous FJ kits to decorate my page: One of those cute Brooke Rubber charms and the Sarah Chipboard Alphabet stickers for the initials of my grand parents on the photo.
On the bottom I glued the scalloped paper rest of the Rainbow paper and fixed it with my mini stapler. Since some time I have black staples and they are so cute for my Felicity Jane projects because I give them some more black accents.
At least I splattered black paint across my page and decorated the layout with some of the wonderful Felicity Jane Megan stamps.
I hope you like my blog post and I could inspire you to use the wonderful Rainbow paper of the Megan kit.
Have a great week.
xo, Ulli
