Hello everyone!
Mandy here with you today to share my first project using the stunning new Bailey collection! I absolutely love the soft and pretty colours in this kit, especially teamed up with the gorgeous black and white patterns! With Valentines' Day just around the corner, I thought that it would be the perfect time to create some Valentine's Day cards using this lovely kit. I decided this year to not just create a card for hubby, but also for my three kids as well. I think it's a nice opportunity to tell all of my loved ones how much they mean to me! And how better to do that than with a handmade card!
The first card I made was for my hubby, and I started this one off by covering the front of the card with the 'love' text patterned paper. I chose to use the journaling card with the sentiment 'Today. Tomorrow. Always' on the front of this card, and I stamped the phrase 'You're my Person' onto the journaling card as well. I matted it with the yellow stripe patterned paper, and then adhered it to the front of the card using craft foam for added dimension and interest.
Did you see the beautiful cotton ribbons that are now available to purchase from the Felicity Jane store? I used one of these to tie a pretty bow around the journaling card, which gave the card some lovely texture. To finish it off I added a few little die cut hearts as well as some of the cute heart beads, which are available as an add-on to the kit.
The next card I made is for my youngest daughter Eleanor. For this one I covered the front of the card with the black and white 'dots' patterned paper. I then adhered the 3x4 yellow gingham journaling card towards the bottom half of the card, and I tucked a scallop branding strip under the bottom edge of the journaling card.
To embellish this one, I fussy cut one of the sweet little flowers out of the floral patterned paper, and I adhered it with foam tape. I tucked the 'love note' die cut under the edge of the flower to create a little cluster, and then I finish the card off with a sprinkling of sequins from the kit.
I couldn't resist fussy cutting some more of those pretty little flowers, so for my next card I used them to create a cute little flower garden. Across the bottom of the card I added two strips of patterned paper, which help to ground the flowers.
I made this card for my eldest daughter Abigail, so I thought the stamped phrase 'someone special' would be the perfect finishing touch for the card.
And last but not least, is the card that I made for my son Isaac. I tried very hard to make this one not too girly! I chose the black and white scallop, and the yellow stripe patterned papers for the front of this card. I really can't go past a good scallop pattern, and this one is super cute! Once again I used a journaling card as the main feature on the card, this time choosing the one with the aqua heart and the word 'love' on it. I decided to trim this one down to square, and then I matted it with the dots patterned paper and adhered it with foam tape.
Next I stamped the phrase 'love ya' onto a small piece of white cardstock, and then I trimmed it into a little banner to adhere to the card. This was the perfect phrase as its something that my son and I say to each other all the time (with the same slang 'ya' at the end). I finished this card off with a few of the sequins from the kit, because you really can't go wrong with sequins!
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you've been inspired by my Valentine's Day Cards! It's not too late to create a card or two yourself, and these ones came together very quickly using the beautiful Bailey collection! I'll see you back here on the blog later this month.

One of my goals this year is to make cards with scraps from collections. These are wonderful cards. I think this could be a regular feature to use product up! Tx
