Watercolored Jane Card | Nancy Damiano
Hey friends, Nancy here today with a little piece of art that I like to call 'Jane'. I'm no artist, so I'm glad that I have Felicity Jane to do the sketching for me. I love the handdrawn girl in this month's kit. I tried so hard to incorporate her into one of my layouts, but I couldn't find the perfect story. If only I had gone to Paris in my 20's!
Never fear, that's what cards are for! Anytime I have bits and pieces left over from a kit, I put them in a bowl for card projects. This time my little bowl of goodness included a fussy cut flower and Jane.
The fussy cut floral was perfect for grounding Jane to the card. It serves almost like a shelf that she's sitting on. To add some pop to the background, I used a wash of pink and yellow watercolors. I got a beautiful orange hue where the two colors mixed that adds warmth to the mostly black and white graphic.
The bottom edge of the card was dressed up with some washi tape from the April kit. That black and white waves adds a much needed pop of contrast to the very white background. It makes Jane really stand out.
I popped the Jane graphic up with some foam tape and added a simple black sentiment from this month's stamp set. It's as easy as that! Keep a bowl of Felicity Jane goodness on your work table and make art with your scraps.
