When I opened the Willow kit the month two things struck me immediately - those flowers and the pocket page cards. Swoon! The graphic designs, beautiful color palette and sentiments are some of my favorites from the 2017 kits. Let's take a look at how to combine this kit and a weekend story.
We recently spent a weekend in New York City and one of my favorite areas was the Flatiron District. In particular I wanted to see the Flatiron District and Madison Square Park. I printed out a handful of photos that would give the "who, where and what" of this adventure.
I find that documenting places in a pocket layout is easier when you have a mix of up people photos (our feet and family selfie), a focal point photo (the flatiron building) and some detailed shots (the black sign and tulips). When you combine all of these images you have the complete story of our excursion in on 9x12 page.
The actual layout is fairly simple. I think the cards are so very well designed, that you really don't need to embellish much. I printed two 3x4 photos on a 6x4 sheet of photo paper above. To tie the two images together, I used a border die cut from the Willow kit. The daisy in the center provides a perfect spot to hang a little feather from. The tiny puffy heart adds a punch of blue and texture to this simple accent.
A bit of stamping on the center card and a puffy alphabet in the center of one photo, complete the embellishments. Adding simple accents, good photos that tell the story and the Willow kit is the perfect way to create a weekend trip album!
