White on White Winter Layout | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey friends, it’s Kathleen here again and today I finally have a layout to share with you again. For some reason it’s been a while since I last made a layout, so it was really fun to get back into it!

For today’s page I used some pieces of the Holly kit. But even though I had set out to use quite a few things of it for my layout, it ended up much simpler than I expected. The photo I scrapped is of my husband and me on a day when it had just snowed and everything was like a winter wonderland. So that’s what I wanted to convey with my layout, too.

I used white cardstock for my background to have that snowy, wintery feel, and added a border with one of the papers from the Holly paper pack around it for a little pop of contrast. I like the wood grain look of the patterned paper, it reminds me of Christmas trees, so it fitted right in. :)

I only used one more patterned paper to mat my photo (I absolutely LOVE that black and white buffalo plaid!) and the solid colored light pink paper for my title that I had cut using a Felicity Jane cut file from the Silhouette store.

The snowflakes on my background were cut from white cardstock, too, using some dies from my stash. But you can easily find snowflake cut files for your electronic die cutting machine online :) I like the white on white look. It works really well for Winter-themed pages, but you could also use the white on white look to create very elegant layouts.

The snowflake sequins from the Holly kit were the perfect little accents to add around the page. I feel like gold always goes with Christmas and holiday projects!

The “holiday cheer“ phrase beneath my title was stamped with the Holly stamp set and then I added my journaling below, talking about how happy I am that we did get out into the cold to take a walk because the photos I got of us are some of my absolute favorites! :)

As I said, I really didn’t plan to create such a simple layout, but sometimes less is more, and I feel like this page really conveys this cold, wintery feeling that I think of when seeing this photo.

I hope you like today’s projects and you have a wonderful day!

See you again soon,

Kathleen
