"Workshop" Layout | Ulrike Dold

Hi FJ friends!

Today I am up at the blog with our Friday favorites theme. When I saw the wonderful new Julia kit I fell in love with the cute Chipboard Buttons and the amazing stamp set and I knew I wanted to use both on a layout with pictures of my first scrapbooking workshop, which I gave last March before our world has changed so much. It was a wonderful and creative day with amazing and creative ladies. I am so thankful for this chance and the experience to inspire and teach some crafty girls making a rainbow scrapbooking layout there.

Because of the chipboard buttons I knew I would do a layout with many circles and with pictures in circle shapes. I also wanted to underline the creating theme and decided to use water colors to make some artsy and colorful circles in a  water color look. Here is my complete 12x12 page:

First I shaped my four pictures into circles. I used metal dies for it but you also can use circle punches. The pictures have the following sizes: 2.5, 1.8 and 1.5 inches. Then I used my water colors and made some colorful paper pieces with the colors yellow, orange, pink and blue. I put the water colors on a plastic bag from an empty FJ die cut shape bag and put it on the FJ Essentials white cardstock. After drying I punched them also to circles in different sizes.

I punched out some paper circles from the following amazing FJ Millie papers: Florals & Stripes, Stripes & Stars, Dots & Type, Plaid & Rainbows and Grid & Spots. The circles have sizes from 0.5 to 3 inches. I put all the circles on the 12x12 layout and moved them around. I began with the biggest picture and stamped with black ink and the gorgeous Julia stamp set the "create, create, create…" stamp and the arrow stamp under the position of my first picture. I added the picture with 3 D dots to add some dimension and began to cluster more circles around this photo. I also added the "Happy" and the "Love This" Chipboard Buttons there with 3 D dots, too.

Then I stamped the amazing, big journaling stamp from the Julia kit on the bottom of my page. This stamp is so perfect to add your journaling on a layout or in traveler notebooks or on journaling cards for your pocket pages. I added more and more circles on my page and always mixed the pictures with patterned papers, water color circles and the wonderful chipboard buttons. And I also varied the height of the circles and glued some of the circles directly on the layout or with 3 D dots with some dimension on my page.

I also added the stamps "This is Happiness" and "Creating is my thing" on my page. The "Work Space" chipboard button was perfect for pictures of the workshop kit with all the cutter on the tables before we began the workshop. I added black yarn on the the cute "Work In Progress" Die Cut Shape. Then I added it on a picture which I made while my students worked on their layouts. The Julia Kit was just perfect to add all my pictures from this workshop day. I added the title "workshop" with the wonderful yellow Julia Puffy Alphabet around circles on two different parts of the layout to get a playful look. The Julia alphabet has a wonderful bright color and I love the thin letters.

I added my journaling by hand and decorated the pictures and circles with small 0.5 inch circles and the gorgeous Julia Die Cut Shapes. I really love the pretty flowers and the cute hearts. Then I stamped the small hearts from the Julia stamp set two times on my page. I added the date with the FJ Roller Date Stamp on the journaling stamp on the bottom of my page. At the end I used the lovely and colorful Julia Epoxy Dots to finished off my page.

I hope you like my artsy and playful page with the creating theme and many circles. Maybe I could inspire you to use the gorgeous Julia chipboard buttons and the cute stamp set on a circle layout, too.

I can’t wait to see what you will create with this amazing FJ kit! Have fun!

xx Ulli
