Hi everyone!
Mandy back with you today to share another project using the beautiful ‘Reagan’ kit! One of the things that I love about this kit is it’s versatility! It’s definitely very pretty, with gorgeous florals and beautiful colours. But have you also noticed that there are lots of patterned papers and embellishments that work for masculine projects as well? The blues and greys in the kit were just perfect for creating a traveler’s notebook spread featuring a photo of Isaac enjoying the great outdoors!
I started off by covering the left hand side of the spread with the navy patterned paper with the small white dots. I then added my title to the page using the lovely chipboard alphabet stickers from the kit. I think these are probably one of my favourite FJ alphabet stickers – I’ll definitely be using these on lots of future projects! Underneath the title I added a label from the die cut shapes pack, which I stamped a phrase onto using one of the stamps from the Reagan stamp set. I also added a strip of FJ black and white striped washi tape underneath the label. To finish off this page, I added some of the stars from the Essentials Bitty Puffy sticker pack. I love these bitty puffy stickers for adding finishing touches to my projects!
Next I covered the right hand side of the spread with the ‘stars’ patterned paper. This provides a nice contrast to the darker patterned paper on the left hand side. I also added a strip of the black and white striped patterned paper down the right hand edge of the page. You really can’t go wrong with black and white stripes, right?! Behind my photo, I added a couple of layers using one of the 3x4 journaling cards, as well as the dark blue solid color paper from the kit. I then adhered the photo to the middle of the page. The layers behind the photo really help it to stand out from the background!
To add some more interest to the photo area, I tucked a couple of the die cut labels under the right hand side of the photo, and then I layered a die cut ampersand on top. I also threaded two of the tiny labels from the kit onto some twine and then dangled them from underneath the bottom edge of the photo. I love that this adds a bit of movement to the page!
To finish off the spread, I stamped the phrase ‘take the next step’ multiple times above the photo. This just adds a little bit more interest to the page without adding the heaviness of another embellishment. I really love how this spread turned out, and I’m happy that I was able to create a ‘boy’ themed layout using the lovely ‘Reagan’ kit.
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I’ll be back later in the month to share some inspiration using the ‘Alexis’ kit! Until then, happy crafting friends!
