Hey FJ friends,
Anne here today with a layout with the adorable Shay kit. I love the color combination. For my layout I chose a layout design I used a few times before. It's a good starter to begin your creative flow.
I started with a paper strip for the background and then put everything on it. I wanted to have more contrast, so I glued some tissue paper on the stars paper. I had this really bad photo of my girls, but it was the only one to document the story. So I decided to turn it into black and white and cut away as much as possible from the background. That means I had left a photo in an unusual format. I layered some paper and vellum under it and decided to combine it with a lot of different geometric formats. Next to my photo I glued down a journaling card. I don't do a lot of pocket pages and that's a good use for all the pocket page cards we get in the monthly kits.
I love the new tag building metal dies. Especially the little one. I used the paper packaging inlay to cut out some tags. You don't need a lot to embellish them. I just put some word puffy stickers on it. Another white tag is perfect for my journaling.
I was so happy when I discovered that the 'you are loved' stamp fits perfectly on the speech bubble. It's such a nice embellishment. You need only permanent ink and a calm hand. I finished the page with some of the chipboard asterisks and two tabs on the upper side of the paper strip.
