You & Your Tools layout with the Sarah Collection | Ulrike Dold

Hi there,

Ulli here with you today and I hope you enjoy the wonderful spring time! My favorite seasons are spring and summer and I am so happy about the nice weather and the pretty flowers and blooming trees outside.

Suitably for spring I found some photos from the birthday shooting of our little man from last year. He is a little mechanic and loves his play tools and so I had the idea to make a boyish layout with the wonderful and fresh FJ Sarah collection. This collection is really pretty and I am so in love with the florals and the beautiful colors. The embellishments are gorgeous and versatile as always and I especially adore the yellow and the dark blue colors. For this project I also added the mint green too because of the cute new Essentials Puffy Alphabet and the adorable mini wide paper clips in mint.

At the moment I considering if I should change for my smaller layouts from the size 8.5x11 to the format 9x12 and so I made my first 9x12 inch page. I cut my Felicity Jane essentials cardstock in white to 9x12 and I love the pure white color! This is my favorite white cardstock ever. Have you used it before? If not you have to try it out. It has the perfect white color and the perfect paper thickness!

First I layered my photo and therefor I used the papers Foliage & Scallops, the Tiles and the Pinstripes papers and the wonderful mint solid paper from the Sarah kit. I used my fringe scissors to cut fringes in the yellow Tiles paper and I fussy cut the scalloped paper on one border. I used the adorable polka dot tag from the Sarah Die Cut shapes too and used the white Sarah Library card to put it behind my layering to have a hidden journaling.  I glued everything on the border on the right side of my page. If you want to do a hidden journaling its important to glue everything only on the border for putting the journaling behind it easily.

Then I stamped the wonderful branches and one of those blossoms from the Sarah stamp set with black ink on white cardstock and fussy cut them. I also used my die cutting machine and some metal dies to make some branches from the FJ essentials cardstock in white and from the mint and yellow solid paper. I decorated my photo with them and with one of those cute photo corners from the Sarah collection. Aren´t they cute!?

Then I glued a paper stripe from the Scallops paper on the left side below and glued many branches under it. I love the playful look of all these paper branches in different colors. For my title I used the wonderful striped Sarah Chipboard Alphabet and the mint Essentials Puffy Alphabet and I glued the first part on my photo and the second part on the paper stripe below. I glued the chipboard letters a little bit overlapped and it gives my page an interesting touch.

For the date I used the FJ date roller stamp and glued the blue die cut tab on some scalloped paper and fixed it with my mini stapler on the border above. To add some dimension I used 3 D glue dots there.  Then I decorated it with 4 different alphabet stickers (Sarah Chipboard Alphabet, Essentials Puffy Alphabet in mint & white and the Lola Mini Puffy Alphabet) and the number 2 for our little boys age. I love it to add the age from our children on layouts.

I splattered black paint across my page and used the Felicity Jane Essentials No. 2 stamp set and the mini hearts from the Sarah stamp set to decorate the page with some arrows, some little phrases and some hearts. I also used another photo corner in blue as an arrow and glued it with glue dots against the second part of my title. Then I  typed the journaling with my typewriter on the white Sarah Library card and put it behind the photo with the layering. I added one of these wonderful mini wide paper clips in mint there. Then I glued the Sarah Puffy Title Smile besides my photo and the yellow tab, the mint heart and the Good Times banner from the Sarah Die Cut Shapes on my picture.

To finish off my page I used the adorable Epoxy Dots and glued them here and there on my page.

I hope I could inspire you with my todays blog post. I can’t wait to see all your wonderful projects with this pretty spring collection of Felicity Jane!

Until the next time.

xo, Ulli
