Hello there again, amazing friends! It’s Lydia today, and I’m sharing a fun mini album I created to house all my fall memories this year. This one uses all the gorgeous Gabby papers and ephemera, vintage buttons, and FJ charms. I’ve never created this type of flip-open album before, and it was fun figuring it out all in my head beforehand.
For the exterior of the album, I had fun cutting my chipboard to my preferred size. The process of deciding how I wanted my flap to close and what shape it would be was my favorite part! I chose to cover it with the gorgeous blue-green solid paper and the amazing pear patterned paper. They paired so beautifully with one another.
For my closure I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do. I originally planned to use a crop-o-dile to set eyelets for ribbon, but I changed my mind and decided on a vintage button closure instead. I knew this would add more interest to the outside, and it would also allow a pretty little charm to accentuate it.
I added two vintage buttons in coordinating colors and hand stitched them on. I then strung up my charms with white embroidery thread to twine around them to close. I really love the added whimsy that it adds to my mini album.
On the inside I decided to go with a simple accordion style. It was the easiest to adhere to my album without any fuss, and it made lots of room for photos and journaling. I chose a bunch of beautiful patterned papers from the Gabby collection to trim to my 4x5 size.
I prepared my album with pre-cut areas for my future photos of this fall. I added in spaces for lots of journaling, and I added titles where I knew would be a theme for fall for me. I love that I can now pop photos on top and add my journaling and it will be all finished!
One of my favorite pages is a page that uses one of the cute little mini notebooks. I made this the first page in my book. I’m using it to document 16 moments throughout the fall that really pop out to me, Happy little moments or memories that make my heart happy.
This one is full of fringe trim, ephemera, tissue paper journaling, vintage buttons, and gorgeous paper. I hope you leave inspired to create your very own little mini album, filled with fall memories and moments!
