Happy Day Dividers and Tabs | Julie Kinneeveauk

The whimsical, playful designs in the Happy Day kit were the perfect addition to my planner setup.  Let's face it, every month I'm tempted to make a new set of dividers with my FJ patterned paper, but with these adorable stamps this month, I couldn't resist the combination.

I started out by cutting white cardstock into 2" wide strips.  Then, chose 5 similar-sized images to stamp across the top of each strip.  This is the point where I realized I only had 4 Copic markers to chose from, and questioned whether or not I could adequately color in these cuties...

Realizing I had way more ink colors than markers, I opted to take the solid cupcake image and repeat the same image in different colors.

Once I'd stamped out these beauties, it occurred to me that I wasn't limited to Copic Markers (silly me), and I scoured through my home to find any colored inks I could find. I was torn between the two options for a while but decided to stick with my original plan.  Just had to share my detour with you because 1) it's the reality of how I roll creatively, 2) those solid cupcakes are stinkin' cute.

After adding some color to my stamped images, I paired them each with a piece of the Happy Day patterned paper and trimmed the paper to A5 size.  I have a previous blog post HERE which goes into better detail of this process, so will skip the nitty gritty on this one. I trimmed around the tops of each image, then left enough of a "base" to adhere to each divider.  I added the thin wash strip just for fun, but knew laminating each divider would secure each of these in place nicely.

I absolutely LOVE the way these look, lined up together.

And peeking out the top of my planner?  Enough already.  :)
