March Art Journal Page | Suzanna Stein
Hey friends! Around the first week of the month, I'm usually between kits. During this time, I like to challenge myself to create one project with my left over items from the previous month's kit.
You may remember I shared a post back in October on how to turn your kit extras into a fun mini book. Since then, it has become one of my favorite parts of the month!
Today I'm sharing an art journal page I created using pieces from the London kit! I've always loved the idea of having a journal to document just me and see my personal growth throughout the year.
I rarely take selfies, and one of my self-care goals this year is to take a selfie whenever I am feeling pretty/put together/happy/cute/etc. I know you gals can relate to those days that you just feel good! I decided to use an FJ traveler's notebook insert each month to not only document those days, but also my favorite "me times/moments" throughout the month!
I had a hard time getting a non-washed out photo of my photo, but wanted to show how the clear polka dot material moves back and forth - it's actually a piece of a bag that is cut and washi taped in! So fun!! (I think it might be my favorite part of the layout!)
I won't deny it, I am a complete amateur when it comes to stamping directly on photos. In fact, this is only my second time ever using this technique! It didn't come out as clear as I would have liked it to, but I know what it says and that's what's important.
Since I want to use this little notebook for "Everyday Things & Me" I thought that was a perfect title for the first spread! And just like in my last post, that fun ampersand is cut from the 6x6 paper set, which I cannot get enough of!!
On the other side of the page, I cut imperfect letters from my paper leftovers to spell out the month this notebook will be for, added a few other decorative elements, and finished it off with one of my favorite quotes from J.K. Rowling!
What are your favorite ways to use your kit extras, leftovers, and scraps? Share them below so I can give them a try in the coming months!
