Hey there, friends! I’ve been crafting away with the Autumn kit and can’t get enough of the color palette and decorative elements! Today I’m sharing a 6”x12” layout I created with the kit.
This layout has two photos, making it pretty full space-wise. For that reason, I kept the decorative elements minimal with just some watercolor and patterned paper layering. I noticed that I could split the patterned papers into two color palettes. From there, I chose with palette I wanted to use for this layout. I was really drawn to the colorful striped paper and decided to use that as the base for my layout color scheme.
I use the white & gold foil alphabet stickers from the Autumn kit and a die cut for my title. The title is long, so I used that as a secondary focal point, with the photos being the first.
Much like the last layout I shared here on the blog, I matched my watercolors to the color palette of the layout - in this case, I used the colors found on that striped patterned paper I mentioned!
To finish it off, I added splatters of gold watercolor and a little bit of journaling.
I really love the way this layout turned out! The Autumn kit was perfect to tell this story. I love how the decorative elements don’t detract from the photos themselves, they lift them up and make it easier to tell the story in a meaningful way! I created a process video for this layout so you could see how it came together.
Have you tried 6”x12” layouts? What is your favorite layout size or type? Let me know in the comments below. I’m always looking for new layout types to try!
