Hi everyone!

I’m so thrilled to be continuing on the Felicity Jane Creative Team for another term! I love creating with the gorgeous FJ kits, and it is always a pleasure to be able to share my projects with you all!

I’ve been around here for a while, but in case you don’t know me, here’s a few things that will help you to get to know a little bit about me… I’m an Aussie and I’ve been scrapbooking now for close to 14 years. I’m married to Andrew, and we have three kids ranging in age from 3 up to 14. As well as looking after my family, I work part time at my local scrapbooking store, which is so much fun! I mainly like to scrapbook 12x12 layouts, as well as traveler’s notebook spreads. What I love most about memory keeping is that while I’m documenting my family’s precious memories, I also get to enjoy the creative process!

Today, I’m excited to be sharing my first project using the absolutely beautiful ‘Lola’ kit. The colour combinations in this kit are just so pretty, and the florals are as gorgeous as always! I’m playing along with the FJ 30 Day Journal Challenge, and I’ve used the journal prompt ‘What are you excited about?’ as the inspiration for this traveler’s notebook layout.

I started my layout off by covering the left hand side of the spread with the black and white dot patterned paper. I must admit that I usually choose stripes over dots, but the boldness of those dots really caught my eye, and I like how it helps to draw the viewer’s eye towards the photo. One of the things I love most about the FJ papers is that they all have a black and white pattern on the reverse side, which makes them so versatile!

I added a couple of layers behind my photo using a journaling card from the kit, as well as one of the papers from the 6x6 paper pack, and I secured the layers together using a white mini wide paperclip. I used the die cut piece with the phrase ‘this is me’ as the title for my layout, and I added it  down the right hand side of the photo.

On the opposite side of the spread, I added a small strip of the blue gingham 6x6 patterned paper, as well as a strip of the Essentials stripe washi tape, down edge of the page. I really couldn’t resist adding one of the beautiful floral die cuts to the page, and I LOVE how it looks!

I handwrote some short journaling, and as I said, I used the prompt ‘What are you excited about?’. We have some big changes coming up for our family over the next month or two. We’ve just recently sold our house, and we’re relocating to a new area, about an hour and a half away. This is going to be a big change for us all, including the kids, so there are a few nerves, but overall we’re all feeling excited for this new chapter in our lives!

Underneath my journaling I added the date using the new FJ roller date stamp, and then I finished the layout off with a few epoxy dots from the Henley kit.

Thanks so much for joining me here today. I hope that you’ve been inspired! If you’re playing along with our 30 Day Journal Challenge, be sure to share your projects using the hash tag #fj30daychallenge, so that we can take a look at your beautiful work as well!
