Autumn Frames | Nancy Damiano

Hey there Felicity fans, Nancy here today with a look at the Autumn kit. I love the fall theme of this kit and definitely plan to put all of that leaf goodness to use later in the month. First though, I wanted to show just how versatile this kit is with a non-themed layout. Let's start with a base of cardstock and a good, strong linear design. We'll explore how to use different types of framing techniques to achieve this look.

To create the bold background, cut squares out of four different shades of cardstock at 2" intervals. You could also just cut out the centers of the salmon and yellow squares to use on other layouts. I love these fiery colors - the shades of a sunset, leaves and all thing bright and colorful! This frame within a frame design shows off those colors to perfection!

The large square design is pulled together with a large machine-sewn "x" across the entire background. Here's peek at the texture the sewing adds. A small flag with tucked just under the patterned paper layers and framed out with lines of stamped text. I love words and the handmade touch they add to a design.

The photo is surrounded with layers of patterned paper, vellum leaves from the kit and a bold black and white button. Each piece frames out the photo and adds texture and dimension to the photo. It draws the eye from the bold background, to the people in the center! Notice that up at the very top of the photo, the words also frame out the photo.

This layout is basically layers of frames - from the background to the words. Everything in it's place! I hope this gives you some ideas for the Autumn kit and an everyday theme layout this month.
