Mini with Library Card Pockets | Ulrike Dold

Hi everyone!

Ulli here with you today and I want to show you my new project: a little mini book with the library card pockets of the Margot collection. These sweet library pockets are my favorite items in this collection and when I saw them I had the idea to make a little mini book with them. Here you can see the cover. It is an envelope for the pockets.

First I decided which pockets and journaling cards I wanted to use and searched for small pictures from our vacation in summer 2021 in Sweden. It was such a wonderful road trip and vacation and the Margot collection was just perfect for our pictures.

Then I´ve made a big envelope for all the library pockets. I was inspired by an envelope that I got as a packaging for some hair bands. I also used the touch fastened dots of this packaging for my mini cover. I’ve used the Margot "Tiny Dots & Honeycomb" paper and cut it to 6 x 11 inches. Then I folded the 6 inch side on the right and the left side at 1.25 inches and at 1 inch with a folding tool. The 11 inch side I folded at 3.75 and 4 inches, then at 8.5 inches and 8.75 inches. I cut out the edges on the top and on the bottom (right and left side) to get my envelope basic framework. Only in the middle of the envelope flaps are still there then. I also used my corner rounder to make the corners of the cap round and also the edges on the top of the lashes.

I turned the envelope to have the back in front of me. Then I cut with a scalpel four slits with 1 inch length into the envelope. One slit I made at the the bottom of the envelope box where the first folding is, the second one I made on the top before the foldings. Then I made two into the cap with 1/4 inch of distance to the border (above and below). I threaded my black and white striped ribbon through the slits. Then I covered the inside of the envelope with the green solid paper from the Margot collection. I cut 3.5 x 4.5 inches from the solid cardstock and glued it into the inside of the envelope. I covered it with the ribbon there. I also covered the inside of the cap so that no ribbon is visible anymore. Then I glued the touch fastened dots into the inside of the cap and the other matching on the envelope inside.

I fussy cut some roses from the Margot "Floral & Hearts“ Paper and decorated the cover of the mini book with them. I also cut out the red label from the Margot journaling card with the "Remember this“ label and added it on the cap. I used the small Ginny Puffy Alphabet in white to write the title on the cover. I also used one of the Aspen Chipboard Hearts to decorate it. The green matches perfectly to the Margot color palette.

Then I began to fill and decorate the super adorable Margot Library Pockets with pictures, journaling cards and embellishments. For the first and the second one I also used the cute Julia Epoxy Dots to decorate them. I used the heart journaling card and cut the heart out to use it as a frame for a black and white picture. I also used the super cute Margot Alphabet Stickers, the small white Ginny Puffy Alphabet and the June Puffy Alphabet to add some titles on the cards and pockets.

I worked also with the Margot 6 x 6 Cut Apart Sheets and punched out this cute smile. In some pockets I only put some pictures in. In others I also used the cute Margot journaling cards. The mini wide paper clips in white are the perfect addition too.

I also worked with my circle punch to punch my pictures into circle shapes. The cute Margot die cut tags are also perfect to decorate them with pictures and to put them into the adorable Library Pockets.

I also did some handwriting on a Margot label to label the pocket with the dots. I decorated this pocket with the wonderful Margot rose die cut and two of the Aspen Chipboard Hearts. The small alphabet stickers from the Ginny and June collection are perfect for small titles in mini books.

It was so much fun to fill these sweet little pockets with wonderful memories.
