Hi! It's Monday again and that means it time for another Inspired by post.
A couple of week ago I went through several years worth of photos. It was mostly just for fun (I just couldn't stop looking!!!), but I also noticed that I had so many pictures that I needed and wanted to get into my scrapbooks. For the layout that I am sharing with you today, I decided to pick one of those to get on a page!
Here's a look at my layout:
Seriously... how gorgeous is the new Maggie kit!! I love so many things about it.
So as I was looking through all those pictures from my past, the photo that inspired me the most was one that was taken on my last day of cosmetology school. I absolutely love this picture of me and my beauty school besties, but it was the story behind the photo that I wanted to get down on paper. I was at such a turning point in my life, and I wasn't quite sure if I was ready for the changes that were coming my way.
To start off, I picked a few of my favorite patterned papers from the kit to layer behind my photo. That pink and red polka dot paper is so dang cute and I have a feeling I am going to be sneaking it into every layout I made until its gone. I also decided to grab one of the doilies to add to my layers and also that really cute vellum scallop! I love how girly it ended up looking.
I used a tag that I got from a the kits cut apart sheet to create a home for some embellishments. I then took some bits and bobs to create a little cluster. As a finishing touch I used some gold color shine that came in a previous kit to add a few splatters.
I was having a hard time getting my journaling to fit using my handwriting, so I decided to type it instead. Just a bit of advice... always remember to proof read your journaling before printing it out and creating a layout with it. This is a step that I for some reason never do??? Get's me in trouble every time.
So with the exception of several typos (that I will be fixing), I happy with how this layout turned out! Plus it was super fun scrapping an older memory. I think I will print out the rest of my cosmetology photos, and get them into my album!
