“This is What Today Looks Like” 3x4 Mini Album │ Grace │ Lydia CostApr 09, 2020
Hello there again my amazing friends! Today I’m sharing a little something I created using the Grace kit. I felt so inspired by so many elements of this collection, and I think it might be one of the prettiest I’ve ever worked with. I think I might hoard a bit of it, because I’m so desperately smitten.
I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous colors of the paper pack, and I set out at my desk to create a little mini album to document the daily memories of how I’m feeling about the current pandemic. As I set down at my desk with full intentions of creating it, I somehow found myself making paper dolls out of the gorgeous papers. I’d seen this gorgeous big skirt on an influencer on Instagram recently, and I found myself stitching a little paper rendition of it. Before I knew it she was sitting on the cover of my little album.
I already knew that this tiny little album was going to be special to me for that reason. After gathering the papers I wanted to use for my little album, I began trimming them to 4x6, so that they could be folded in half to create my little book. When they were all trimmed out and folded in half, I punched four holes into the spine area, so that I could tie it all up with a pretty mint ribbon.
I really love how whimsical albums and mini books look when you bind them up with ribbon. I simply criss-crossed the ribbon through the holes for a pretty look. Now that I had the foundation down, I was ready to document the little moments and memories from my days.
Some days I wrote about what self-care routines really helped to alleviate stress, and other days I wrote about the little moments that truly highlighted my day. I stuff this little book full of pretty titled tabs, journal filled tissue paper, and delightful photos of my time with my family. There is just something about pouring your heart into something pretty and pointless, that just makes you feel oh so better!
I made sure to include my humorous mornings of space heaters and at home hot yoga, the peace I find with my morning runs, and the little giggles of my little man during relaxing evenings. This little book is just filled to the brim with happy thoughts and reflection. It’s become the best ten minutes of my day to sit down and create in!
